Skiclipse, 11 x 14 metal print of original oil on linen

$385.00

"Skiclipse" – Sugarloaf Summit, 4/8/24

Bluebird skies, buttery spring snow, and not a whisper of wind—Eclipse Day served up perfect conditions. The lift line stretched up the hill, and the energy felt less like skiing and more like tailgating a cosmic event. As the last chair creaked up, the summit swelled with riders ditching their gear and scrambling uphill like fans before a headliner.

Then it happened. The moon slid into place, shadows vanished, and the world turned into a 360° sunset. The snow glowed strangely, like a blacklight had been cranked just enough to make ski jackets pop and faces look ghostly. It was cold, beautiful, and completely surreal.

This painting captures that eerie, magical moment—just before the cheer of totality, just after the last warm toes surrendered.

As the sun came back and everyone carved down the mountain one last time, in chaos and kindness, it felt like we’d all just witnessed something… otherworldly and unrepeatable.
