“I’m currently working on a series of paintings focused on water - each is a careful, deliberate study similar in process to how I approach portraits, with an emphasis on proportionality and interconnectedness of lines. In exploring variations on this theme, I’m interested in achieving both realism and abstraction. Some are done as pairs of images captured moments apart, like a diptych in time rather than space. I’m also interested in new reproduction capabilities and scalability for my work.”

Brian lives with his loving wife Mary and remarkable dog Uffi in the quiet town of Warren in midcoast Maine. He grew up in Ringwood, NJ, studied Philosophy and Mathematics at Drew University, and is proudly self taught as a painter. He paints primarily in oil and his work is in private collections throughout the country and internationally. He is represented by Aperto Fine Art in Bridgton, Maine and Landing Gallery in Rockland, Maine. Brian can be contacted through either gallery or the social media tags provided in the links page.

“I’m currently working on a series of water paintings, compositions focused below the horizon line with little or no objects that capture a sense of time and place through reflected light. I also continue to develop a larger body of work that includes portraits, landscapes and plein air studies.

I am a painter at heart and feel a little lost if too much time passes without a session. I’m so grateful to live in such an exciting time and beautiful part of the world, and to work in a thriving community of friends, family, artists, enthusiasts and collectors. I’m open to discuss commissions and limited reproductions of my work on paper, canvas or walls, and in architectural applications where new capabilities allow for printing on fabric, metal, glass and tile.”
